Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated had the chance to meet John Cena at the Gillette Fusion ProGlide ‘Ultimate Summer Job’ Competition and had the chance to have a quick ‘interview’ with him. Traina asked John his favourite wrestling moments and John Cena mentioned five. Here is the result of what was said:
I had a chance to speak to John Cena Tuesday afternoon at an event for Gillette Fusion ProGlide (where the above photo featuring everyone’s favorite sideline reporter, whose contract with ESPN is coming to an end, was taken). I asked the WWE champion to give me his top five most memorable wrestling moments. Here’s his list and his explanation for each pick.
1. Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant, Wrestlemania III. This was the first-ever in-your-house pay-per-view, not just a closed-circuit event, and it was everything it needed to be. It had my real-life Superman face-to-face with a person who actually was larger and stronger and a more formidable foe than he had ever faced before. You had 93,000 fans in the building. It was just a very impressionable moment.
jonsena4. NXT invasion: This happened two weeks ago and it came at my expense. But what a shot in the arm for WWE programming, and what a wake-up call for all the young guys in the locker room. I think WWE is filled with a lot of talent that is not afraid to step up and here are eight young guys with nothing to lose and they pretty much grabbed WWE programming by the crotch and decided to run the show. I was very impressed with what they did even though they beat my ass.

Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker, Wrestlemania XXV and XXVI: A match that had been seen before, but never on a stage that big. I remember watching it for the first time and saying out loud to myself, “This is the greatest match I’ve ever seen,” and I think it was two of the most consummate professionals lacing up the boots and going at it. I think when they got together for 26, nobody thought they could do it again. But not only did they do it again, but they did it better

I can’t find myself arguing with any of these, they all in a way helped shape the business or managed to get major publicity. For example, can anyone imagine what the WWE would now be had Andre not been slammed by Hogan? What about not having the Four Horsemen? What could have possibly saved WM25 had it not been for Michaels vs. Undertaker? The NXT rookies is a bit questionable, but honestly, its drawn them a lot of attention and that is never bad for business. jonsena
He may have lost the Royal Rumble match, but he still manages to make his way to the main event at Wrestlemania after he outlasted 5 man in the unforgiving steel of Elimination Chamber. He also stood toe to toe against the
